You’re Invited to PRAY-DAY

If you’re reading this, it’s because you’re supposed to know about PRAY-DAY.

What is PRAY-DAY, and why do you need to know about it?

Ever since writing my FAITH WALKING blog last month about how to turn an exercise walk with a friend into a prayer-power walk, I’ve had this nagging thought following me around:

What if someone earnestly wants to have a prayer partner, and they’ve been praying for this but still don’t have a person in their life to pray with?

I’ve been giving that question to God and asking Him for an answer, and I recently woke up one morning with this clear thought ringing in my head:

God and My Girlfriends PRAY-DAY.”

Often times God will give me a ‘download’ of ideas, information, or answer to prayer when I first open my eyes in the morning.  This is common with other people I’ve talked to who are also cultivating a personal relationship with the LORD in their daily living.  I believe it’s because when we first wake up, our normally-cluttered brains -- full of to-do lists, solving problems and logical thinking -- are somewhat of a clean slate in that momentary transition between sleeping and waking.  We’re more able to hear God speak when our own thoughts and analyzing aren’t crowding His voice out.

So, I’ve learned to pay attention to what first “falls” into my head while I’m waking up, and I take the time to dialogue with the LORD about what it means before allowing other thoughts to seep in.

Me: “LORD…What do you mean by PRAY-DAY?

Him:  “You’ve been asking Me how people who don’t have a prayer partner in their life can have a prayer partner. You can create a day for people to share their prayer requests… in a way that they can know and experience being prayed for by, and with, other people.  A God and My Girlfriends PRAY-DAY, on a repeating basis, is the answer.”

From there, as I went about fixing my coffee and getting ready for the day, the details formed in my mind of how it would be done.   The video at the top of this blog explains the details of how we’ll be doing our interactive PRAY-DAY, on the last Friday of each month, through the God and My Girlfriends Stories platform on-line.  I, along with my girlfriends, will be praying for you and with you, about YOUR specific prayer requests.  We’ll be your prayer partners!

So, what’s the PRAY-DAY ‘payoff’?  Whenever we make the time and effort to pray for someone else, we are interceding on their behalf.  It is one way that we can bring heaven to earth, as The Lord’s Prayer (taught by Jesus in Matthew 6:9-13) says:  “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

As I’ve set my intention on bringing ‘faith forward’ and making it first priority in my life, the rich blessings I’ve experienced are blessings I want to pass on to others.  That’s why this FAITH FORWARD blog exists.  And if you landed on this page and are reading this blog right now, it is not by accident.  It is by divine orchestration!

How do I know this?   I always pray that God will bring the people He wants to read what He has led me to share. People who want to know how to cultivate a real, personal relationship with Jesus, whose lives will be touched and changed in a meaningful way by what’s imparted in these blogs.  So if you’re reading this blog, YOU are actually an answer to MY prayer!

I would love to be an answer to your prayers, too.  Let me and my friends partner in prayer with you!  Watch the video at the top of this blog, and submit your prayers for our monthly PRAY-DAY.  Comment or send a private message with your requested prayers on Instagram or Facebook.  We’ll keep your name private and ONLY share your initials during our prayer time, if you prefer that your name not be said aloud while we’re praying over your prayer request.

I’ll be watching for your prayer requests, “leaving the light on” for you!

When two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” - Matthew 18:20
