Life Long Besties
30+ years ago, God aligned us to become life long besties — middle school, high school, different colleges, marriage, birthing 3 girls (Tonya), birthing 3 boys (me)...and all along, navigating this thing called life. We haven’t “lived” in the same city since our college years, but that distance hasn’t changed our friendship. As a matter of fact, the distance has strengthened our bond because of the countless “Stout Stories” while vacationing together. I would need to write a novel to share all the stories...they are that good! :)
On a normal catch-up phone call, we can seriously laugh until breathing is painful and our stomach’s ache — my boys will often say, “mom, must be on the phone with Mrs. Stout!” It’s truly remarkable the number of minutes we can spend on the phone saying absolutely nothing, but laughing until it hurts — a bestie blessing!
And now...what we share together in FAITH is being tested, a daily reminder that fervent prayer is the most powerful healing tool. Tonya, you are the pillar of strength, courage, grace and grit (kind of an Elkhart thing:). I have no doubt that you will shine through this period and become and even more amazing woman.
Love you T, and THANK.YOU.GOD. for giving me the best girlfriend EVER! #GodandMyGirlfriends
