A Shining Example

In December of 2016,  a tumor on my spinal cord was diagnosed. It was an “incidental” find…but I know it was a “God Find”! Not only did God allow this to be detected extremely early, but by His grace, He also orchestrated and ordered every step along my healing path. My precious friend, Tara Cooper also had been diagnosed with a tumor on her spinal cord a year before me. She made one phone call to a world renowned neurosurgeon  that she was blessed to have as her doctor. That one phone call put me into the skilled hands of Dr. Rhines at MD Anderson in Houston, TX (which is my birth state!). There is normally a 3 or 4 month waiting period to get an initial appointment with this neurosurgeon, but as God would have it, I found myself on a plane to see him the very next weekend. My surgery was scheduled 3 weeks later. Tara walked with me through this terrifying time. She sent me daily encouragement, prayed with me, and came to visit me (about a 4 hour drive) before I flew back down for my surgery. She sent a delicious Edible fruit arrangement with a balloon and bear for EACH of my 3 daughters who were with me in Texas! Her faith is contagious and she’s a shining example of what it looks like to trust God not just in the tough times, but in all things! I love this girl!  #GodandMyGirlfriends
